30 hours to go before you meet the BACP annual expectation.
What BACP actually require
BACP normally expects registered members to undertake at least 30 hours of CPD a year, though they emphasise outcomes over hours. Supervision is a separate requirement and should not be submitted as CPD.
BACP does not set a number of supervision hours for registered members - you decide what is appropriate for your caseload and context. If you are an accredited member, or applying for accreditation, you must have a minimum of 1.5 hours a month.
Every UK body has moved towards outcomes rather than a number. If you are selected for audit, what gets examined is not usually the total but whether each activity has a date, a duration, some evidence it happened, and a reflection on what changed in your practice as a result.
That is why a spreadsheet of hours is usually not enough on its own. The hours are easy to reconstruct at renewal; the reflection is not, because by then you have forgotten what the training actually changed.
The practical answer is to write two or three sentences at the time, while it is fresh. More on that in how many CPD hours UK therapists need and whether supervision counts as CPD.
Keeping a running record
NoteSono logs CPD and supervision as you go, with reflections attached to each activity and an export for audit. It is part of a wider tool for UK private practice — clinical notes, clients, scheduling and invoicing.
